Should have been in French and Dutch, especially French as French was prevalent during that time in continental Europe and beyond.
The connection between Vincent and Paul is much more different and special than any of us know. None of us can define it, we can only try to understand the complexity.

Best film I have ever seen
I watched this movie about 2 months ago, i go two a gymnasium in northen sweden where i attend art classes and i got to say….. This is one of the best movies i have seen. I can sometimes agree that some scenes were unnecessary and that he mabye sometimes walked the story didn't evolve. I guess also that im just not really use to the format which they were filming in, but no one can deny the heart breaking story that is portrayed in this movie. This movie takes you on the journey of what actually happened with Vincent, and actually even corrects things that are wrong about him. This is a movie which i give 9/10 and something that you should see.

This flick is a traversity. Every aspect is weak. Not one scene is believable, the cinematography is childish. I don't see how a worse movie could be made. It's one of the greatest stories in art, these people had to be trying to screw it up.
Willem DaFoe looks like a 75 year old. Nobody in the whole film acts like they have any balls. This is a tepid insult to a great artist.
At the end of his life he knew he was planting trees he would never see to provide shade for people he would never meet.
