  2. I wonder if Van Gogh's earlier paintings before Van Gogh's age 27 had been thrown away because of lack of support and abuse from his family, and I wonder if Van Gogh's ear had been cut off by the hands of some psychopath who envied Van Gogh.

  3. I love how people can watch a documentary that reveals how crappy Van Gogh was as a painter and because of the contrived Van Gogh mythos all they hear are praise. "People rejected the Potato Eaters because it was crude" is heard as "Those idiots back then didn't know good art."

  4. There is nothing like two ‘experts’ for agreeing with each other, stroking egos and making a name for themselves. They had it right in the first sentence…’someone learning to paint’. The paintings are cheery enough, but as they say, ‘crude’. So they talk it up, sell it for millions, and make their jobs secure as critics. If a painting would ‘never have made it’ to exhibition at the time of its creation, then the only thing that has changed, is not the quality of the painting, but the opinion of it. How much would you pay for an opinion? Just like buying rocks…sorry, diamonds.
